One of the great features of every NewStyle home is the private, outdoor living spaces. Patios, courtyards, screened porches… they give our homeowners more living space and a way to interact with nature. These flexible “rooms” can be whatever you want them to be! Here are FIVE ways that some of our current homeowners have decorated their outdoor living rooms:
Outdoor furniture, fire pits, grills and umbrellas.
Our screened porches, patios and courtyards are perfect for outdoor living furniture, intimate bistro sets, grills of all kinds, fire pits and sun shades. Add some cushions, colorful table settings and candles and you have just the spot for hours of outdoor fun……like making s’mores with the grandkids!
Pots, planters and hanging baskets.
Whether you have a green thumb or not, colorful plants and flowers can bring so much pleasure. Small pots of herbs or annuals, large planters with fruit bushes or tropical plants and hanging baskets with graceful trailing vines are easy to care for – and switch out for the seasons.
Wall art, fountains & benches.
Many people decorate their outdoor spaces just like they do their inside spaces. Metal sculptures hanging on the walls add visual interest. Bubbling fountains provide a soothing presence as well as a place for the birds to hang out. Benches tucked in corners offer a comfortable place to sit and contemplate nature.
Walls, fences & gates.
Brick walls, classic fence panels and gates and stone pillars create a sense of privacy and security without completely shutting out the world. Whether draped in vines or acting as a backdrop to hydrangeas or small trees, you have an instant sense of serenity!
Pavers and pathways.
As an alternative to concrete, some of our residents choose decorative pavers to bring the indoors to the outdoors. It’s an easy way to add whimsy and a bit of personality because outdoor spaces and design should be just as important as interior design.
