Zootastic Park

For the little explorers and animal lovers, Zootastic Park is the perfect place to visit. With over 250 animal species to discover, you won’t run out of exciting “wow” moments here!

This full-walk around zoo boasts a fantastic collection of exotic animals such as giraffes, tigers, monkeys, sloths, and more. Even better, you can take your grandchild to an animal encounter to get up close and personal with several types of animals.

Can’t get enough of hopping with kangaroos or roaring with lions? Zootastic Park offers a Junior Zookeeper Summer Camp where your grandkid can continue the fun all summer long. They’ll learn the ins and outs of animal care with hands-on experience. The fun truly never ends!

 

Discovery Place

Discovery Place is a non-profit organization that was inspired to provide hands-on learning for young students. Today, through their various programs, they’ve reached and impacted three quarters of a million people throughout the Carolinas.

With four different museums and experiences to choose from, you will not come up short on finding something every grandkid can enjoy.

The Unseen Oceans Exhibit is a great place to visit this summer. You and your grandkid will take a deep dive into knowledge about the depths of the ocean. Immerse yourselves in the wonders of the ocean through a theater presentation, and sit inside a model of the Triton submersible. Explore even more hands-on fun with the Thinker Space, where kids can really use their imagination to create anything they want.

 

Town of Cramerton Goat Island Park and Greenway

Goat Island Park is the place to be if you’re looking to spend a beautiful summer day out with your grandkids. This 29-acre park has everything from walking trails, greenways, and playgrounds to a fishing pier, canoe/kayak portages, and outside grills.

Make it a full day affair with a fun afternoon picnic by the playground and then grill up a mouthwatering BBQ dinner. With plenty of summer events happening throughout the season, this is the spot that’ll continually make the little ones smile!

Greenville, SC

Frankie’s Fun Park

Mini golf, go-karts, and bumper boats are just a few of the staple activities to enjoy at Frankie’s. Your grandkids will have a blast with all of the amazing fun to be had here. Get your heart racing in an intense battle of laser tag. Keep your lasers ready for the XD Dark Ride experience, where you and your grandkid can compete against others in an interactive 3D movie with motion and special effects.

After a whirlwind of fun in the arcade, take a food break at Frankie’s Cafe. Grab a quick bite of pizza, wings, burgers, and more. Cool off from the summer heat with some refreshing ice cream. You’ll need all the energy you can get to keep the fun going at this park.

 

Greenville County Recreation Water Parks: Discovery Island & Otter Creek

There’s endless summer fun to be had in Greenville, SC. Take your grandkids to either of these local water parks for a refreshing dip or splish splashing adventure.

Both parks have something for everyone. Kids can enjoy two types of water slides, tube or body. Discovery Island offers a wave-generating ride for surfing and boogie boarding and a lazy river to relax. Otter Creek offers a spray pad area for the little ones and a leisure pool with beach entry. Get your sunscreen ready!

 

Treetop Quest

Treetop Quest in Greenville is an aerial adventure park with a course for any age and strength level. You can test your mental and physical capabilities with one of their 60 incredible zip-line obstacles.

This activity is self-guided, but don’t worry. The trained staff are available to assist along the way. Safety equipment and a detailed briefing are provided before you begin your adventure.
